Mobile Paediatric Speech Pathology Service

Servicing Newcastle and Lake Macquarie

At Babble to Bloom, we provide speech pathology services to children in their natural environment, at home, daycare, preschool, school or in the community.

Bloom

/bluːm/

From Proto-Indo-European root *bhel- meaning "to thrive, flourish"

Babble to Bloom is a dedicated paediatric speech pathology service that empowers children, young people and their caregivers to develop speech, language and communication skills and reach their communication goals.

We service the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and Maitland region for 1:1 therapy. Telehealth is also available.

Our mission is to build a strong therapeutic relationship with children and their support team, to unlock their communication potential.

Through tailored, family-centred services, we partner with families, educators, and communities to nurture each child's unique strengths, promote confidence, and build pathways to meaningful participation in all areas of life.

Our lead therapist, Sarah has experience working with speech sound disorders, language delays and disorders, early language development (0-5 years), social communication and pragmatic development, fluency disorders (stuttering) and literacy and pre-literacy development.

Sarah has particular interest in parent coaching and training for early intervention, neuroaffirming therapy practices and trauma-informed practice. Sarah is a bilingual speech pathologist, and enjoys working with families from a diverse range of backgrounds.

Report writing

Appointments from anywhere, Australia wide, helping to reduce waitlists in high-demand areas

Comprehensive report writing services that document assessment findings, therapy progress, and individualised recommendations to support communication goals across home, school, and community settings.

  • Play is the most natural and motivating way for children to learn. Using games, toys, and pretend scenarios helps children practice speech and language skills in a fun, low-pressure setting. This approach keeps sessions engaging while building communication, social, and problem-solving skills at the same time.

  • Child-led means the therapist follows the child’s interests and cues to guide activities. This approach helps children feel in control, motivated, and more willing to participate. By working within activities the child enjoys, therapy becomes more engaging and supports genuine, meaningful communication growth.

  • At Babble to Bloom, we have a neuroaffirming focus on supporting each child’s unique way of thinking, communicating, and interacting with the world. Instead of trying to “fix” differences, this approach celebrates them and builds on individual strengths. By creating a respectful and accepting environment, children feel safe, understood, and empowered to develop their communication skills.

  • We believe in capacity building and parent education to support progress beyond the therapy room. By coaching parents and caregivers, therapists share strategies and tools that can be used in everyday routines. This empowers families to create more opportunities for communication practice, helping skills develop faster and more naturally.

A note from Sarah

Hello! I’m Sarah, Director and Speech pathologist at Babble to Bloom.

Being a speech pathologist is more than a job to me—it’s a privilege. Every day I get to walk alongside children and their families, helping them find their voices, build confidence, and connect with the world around them. There's nothing more rewarding than witnessing a child's first words, seeing the joy in a parent’s eyes when communication becomes easier, or helping a child feel understood—perhaps for the very first time.

I’m deeply passionate about creating safe, supportive, and engaging environments where children can thrive. Every child brings their own unique strengths, challenges, and spark—and I love tailoring my approach to meet them where they’re at. Whether we’re building early language skills, supporting emotional regulation through connection, or empowering a child with tools to express their needs, every moment matters.

What keeps me inspired is the belief that communication is a human right—and that everyone deserves to be heard, seen, and valued for who they are. Being part of that journey, even in small ways, is something I treasure every single day.
